Aluminium bifold doors are very strong and robust in comparison to alternative materials for bi fold doors. They offer a low threshold and profile leading to more compact sight lines, which allow for continuous views of the outside area, as well as for extra sunlight entering the space. Aluminium bi-fold doors can also feature integrated trickle vents which are more concealed than other styles of ventilation to bi fold doors.

Aluminium bi-fold doors are more costly than UPVC doors, but they offer smaller frames as aluminium doors are stronger. As a result of this, aluminium doors can have wider glass panels than other types of doors. They are also stronger, so need less maintenance than other materials, particularly when compared to wood doors as these can require regular repainting. Aluminium bifold doors are suitable to areas that experience wide temperature ranges as they don’t expand or contract, meaning they could be installed in sunny south facing locations without risk of warping.

Bifold doors that utilise aluminium frames can be powder coat painted in a wide variety of colours and finishes, including wood effect. This sort of paint finish won’t need repeated repainting as it won’t discolour or fade, and will only require occasional cleaning. Because of the wide selection of possible colour options, aluminium bi-fold doors can be easily matched to fit your home.

Aluminium bifold doors will need a thermal break to be incorporated into the design in order to meet building regulations for heat insulation. They can be more eco-friendly than other bifold door materials, as aluminium is extensively recycled.

Abberley Hall is on the other side of Abberley Hill. It was formerly a country house until 1916 when preparatory school Abberley Hall School moved its premises there.

There are two churches in Abberley. The longest-standing is the run-down St. Michael’s Church, yet the chancel was restored and is still used for occassional services. St. Mary’s Church was built between 1850 and 1852 to replace St. Michael’s to the north of the area.
