Glass is a favourite choice of material for conservatory roofs. Although glass conservatory roofs tend to be higher priced than polycarbonate roof options, they offer great thermal insulation because of the use of double glazing. This means that your conservatory will have a balanced temperature as the glass roof offers great temperature control, producing a space that is usable throughout the year and not too hot in summer or too cold throughout the winter. Glass conservatory roofs are available with solar UV and glare protection, meaning that any furniture placed in your conservatory will be protected from fading if they are placed in direct sunlight. In addition, glass conservatory roofs provide substantially superior sound insulation than alternative roof materials, which means your conservatory will not be noisy in the rain.

Glass conservatory roofs are also available with self-cleaning glass panes, that could dramatically lower the amount of maintenance your conservatory requires. Also, the double glazing used is generally toughened safety glass, both lowering the danger of the glass getting damaged, and therefore if the glass does shatter it will break into very small blunt pieces, significantly lowering the possibility of injuries. Glass conservatory roofs supply the highest clarity of light, presenting unrestricted views of the sky, and allowing the most possible light into the conservatory.
